Cheer Grandma T-Shirt

I showed my support to Havana after she made the cheerleading squad by making a cheer grandma t-shirt. I don’t have a Cricut machine so I carefully cut all the letters out of the vinyl by hand and ironed them onto the t-shirt.

Online Game – Flashcard Match Game (2024)

I love to learn as much as I can about anything at all. There was once a really fun game online that you could play using the flashcards you added. Much to my disappointment it was taken down. So, since I am a professional web applications developer I decided to program my own flashcard match game. I figured the grandbabies could use it for their homework too. If you register, you can upload a list of flashcards from a spreadsheet or add items to a set manually. I also added a number of sample lists you can try out without having to register. The interface looks, works and sounds like a slot machine. I have some more ideas for this game that I’m whirling around in my brain so stay tuned. The site is at https://www.flashcardmatchgame.com.

Tea Set Storage Box

When my granddaughter Havana was younger, I used to bring out my miniature porcelain tea set whenever she visited me. She enjoyed our little tea parties so much that she wanted a set of her own so I got her one for Christmas. The set didn’t come with a box so I bought a hat box, made the dividers for it and Bob’s your uncle!

Unicorn Box

At eight-years-old, Havana went through the “I love unicorns” phase that all girls that age seem to go through. So, for Christmas that year, I decorated an empty box with a unicorn on the cover and then put various unicorn themed items inside the box.

Pennywise Lego

I was a volunteer for the Lunch Buddies program with the Big Brothers/Big Sisters organization in our area. Gino was my “little” and he was really into horror movies and Legos. At the time, the remake of the movie IT had just come out and he talked non-stop about it. I wanted to surprise him by getting him a Pennywise Lego so I searched online for one but there were none to be found at the time. In my search, however, I came across a few forums where I read about people who custom make Legos. It gave me the idea to make one for him. This is what I came up with. He loved it!

Ghidorah Monster

My nephew, Kelvin, is obsessed with dinosaurs and Godzilla monsters. An item on his Christmas wish list was a Ghidorah monster. My internet search turned up only small four-inch figurines which wouldn’t do in my mind. Go big or go home, right? What I did come across, however; was a DIY kit to make your own monster. Yep.

Havana and the Hat

Once when my granddaughter came to visit, she was excited to tell me how she was learning to write stories at school. She brought with her little bundles of notebook paper stapled together to make “books” out of her stories. It was so heartwarming to see all the effort she put into it. For something fun and inspirational to her, I found a place online that makes your story into a hardcover book. With that in mind, Havana and I wrote a silly story together and created the book on the site. She helped pick out some of the graphics they provide, and I created some of them in Photoshop. It was so exciting for her to see our story in print!

Jetski Upholstery Repair

Whaaaat? I know, right? Not really a creation but someone asked me if I could repair upholstery on some jetski seats. I said I never did it before but I’m always up for a challenge.
